Begin making the lasagna by browning the ground beef in a sauce pan on medium heat. When finished, remove from stove and set aside.
In a blender add tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, pepper, onion, garlic powder, oregano, and sugar. Blend until smooth and pour into sauce pan with meat. Also add the cottage cheese and stir until combined.
In a 9x13 greased pan, layer 1/3 of the sauce, a layer of noodles, another 1/3 of the sauce, ½ the cheese, another layer of noodles, the last 1/3 of the sauce, and top with a layer of the cheese.
Cover tightly with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until bubbly and noodles are tender.
